God and Monster
Once the northern seas did roil.
Those turbid waters churned with hidden strife.
From foreign soil their vaunted saviour came
And gave for them his own immortal life.
No man could face the scourge that dwelt below,
But myth may match the might of fabled dread.
No earthly sword could bring the creature low.
A hammer forged from lightning sought its head.
Upon the waves was reckless vengeance waged.
Divine assault by eldritch wrath was met.
Though thunder swung and briny sinew raged,
The fate of both was from inception set.
Here lies a place untouched by sun
Where god and monster fell as one.
